Lighthouse in Marlow in 2008 will take children aged 5 to 11 years. Children aged 5 to 9 will carry out all the activities in a 'Lighthouse' which will be made up of about 10 children of their own age, an adult 'Lighthouse Keeper' and one or more teenage 'Lamplighters'.
The oldest children will have a separate programme of activities more suited to their age.
All children must be registered. Over 200 children took part in 2007, in 2008 we expect to take up to 220 children. This year Lighthouse in Marlow will run from 4th to 8th August, registration will open early in the summer school term, after Easter.
A large number of adults are needed to help during the Lighthouse week, as well as in the weeks leading up to Lighthouse. Adults are needed to run sport, drama and craft activities, to run teaching sessions and to support worship sessions with music and singing. A creche is available for the children of helpers who are too young to join a Lighthouse. |
