2005 was the first year for Marlow Lighthouse.
It was a fantastic sucess and will be running again
in future years.
Lighthouse was started in Great Missenden
in 1987, since then it has spread and ‘daughter’
Lighthouses now run in surrounding areas. Lighthouse
is an ecumenical Christian enterprise. Fundraising takes
place throughout the year and donations are invited
from families of children attending, but there is no
compulsion to give a set amount.
Children of other faiths, or no faith are welcome to
attend, on the understanding that they must attend all
sessions, including Biblical teaching.
To run this successfully we need your support. There
are a number of ways in which you can help including
helping with craft, drama, music or sports activities,
being responsible for a group of children during the
activity week (Lighthouse Keepers), or administrative
work before and during the week. Offers of materials
for use in craft sessions, or sound/lighting equipment
for use in a large marquee would also be welcome!
As well as adult helpers we hope to recruit at least
40 teenagers who will support the Lighthouse Keepers
and will help to run the activities.
If you can help in any way we would love to hear from
you, please send your contact details to Anne
Morse. She is also the best person to contact if
you have any queries.
